Port Forwarding in Endian Firewall 2.1.2

By default, firewall will deny unauthorized requests from internet to access the services in the internal LAN. But sometimes we want to access mail server, or our internal web server from the internet, port forwarding is one of them so that people from internet can access mail service and our internal web server. Port Forwarding is a service that will allow limited access to our LAN from outside the base port that we want to open. We have to  map ip address and port.

Following steps should be done based on scenario like this : we will open the smtp service (port 25), pop3 (port 110), webmail (port 80) and the secure website (port 443).

  1. Open the Firewall menu>> Port Forwarding

  2. Click Add a new rule>>
  3. Input Public IP Alias SMTP Server (IP Alias has been made in our steps to create IP in the Network Alias>> Alias), enter the port on RED in this case 25, and enter the Destination IP, in this case the local ip’s Mail Server, and enter the Destination port 25, its description of the Remark, example: Access to Local SMTP Server, check Enabled, leave the Source IP blank, so that this function can be accessed from any IP on the Internet, then click the Add button.
  4. Do same step for the POP3 service
  5. If we want to webmail from the Mail Server can also be accessed from the outside, do the same thing as above.
  6. Open port 443, this is the https port (for a secure website)
  7. This is summary list of services, such as : smtp, pop3, webmail, and secure website.
